Hardknott PAss

Hardknott Pass links the central lakes to the Cumbrian coast and is the steepest road in England with a gradient of 1 in 3 (about 33%). This series of portraits records the visitors who stop to take in the views from its summit.

Hardknott pass - described by Alfred Wainwright as "a heart-stopping series of sharp and narrow hairpin bends."
